This light is bright and attention grabbing even in day light. It also has wide angle beams for added safety. I also like the big switch on this unit. There is no fumbling to turn this light on.

With all that said, I too thought that the rubber band mounting system was hokey. But it held on to my seat post with no problem. The light is currently clipped to the rear of my saddlebag which causes it to point down somewhat. So, I'm planning on attaching it to my frame just below the rear brake caliper. I think it will hold there just fine. -- Wow. Brigt even in daylight

(+) Very bright. Very easy to turn on with gloved hands (large switch instead fo a tiny recessed button that is usually up against the saddlebag.) (-, and these are very minor) Not sure if I like "bungie cord like" attachment instead of something that bolts on--I added a zip tie so I stop imagining it flying off; but the "bungie" attachment does give me more options that the bolt on type. I use two "Tec Swerve" taillights, on my helmet on flash mode. They are attached to the helmet using adhesive hook and loop fastener. They are angled slightly off of center, so that one is slightly left angled, and one slightly right angled. So people in a wide area behind me can see the lights. I have seen others recommend this for use with the included seat post mounts. I use it on my helmet. I use a Cateye tl-1100 on flash mode on my rack, and a Foxfire light on solid (it is 6"x4" and provides a large, solidly lit, easy to track light, for motorists to track my position and speed once they notice me (that is what the flashing lights are for)). I also use 4 spoke lights, a Serfas stop light for a left running light, a cyclite jacket and a Magic Shine headlight. The main purpose of the Princeton Tec Swerve taillight is to get drivers attention by flashing brightly, and being mounted fairly high, well within a drivers sight lines.

I really like that this light has a focused beam that is very visible in a narrow area directly behind (well with two, the area is larger), and a non-focused beam that will be visible over a much larger area. Drivers are not always directly behind you, so the combination seems effective to me. -- Best Flashing Tail Light I have found

Found it difficult to mount.

First I tried mounting on the saddle post or saddle tube as intended. Two problems. First, the larger rubber band immediately broke when I tried to stretch it. Second, I don't want it there anyway; I have a wedge bag under the seat, so I would prefer to mount the light on the saddle itself. There is no provision for this.

I finally succeeded in mounting it on one of the seatstays, but it's too low - not the ideal location. A more flexible mounting system would be appreciated.
